RIDERS - drive safer!
Why is the TDA Rider Licence needed?
Standard vehicle and accident insurance policies are often unclear when it comes to riding on a racetrack (sport). Terms such as training, competition, trackday, licence riding, open practice, timing, competition‑like conditions, and enclosed area are frequently mixed together — and you may be completely without protection even when you believe you are insured.
The TDA Rider Licence is designed to provide clear and comprehensive protection for open practice, trackdays, training, and competition‑like activities in the Nordics.
What the licence includes
The licence is designed to work in practice and covers both personal injuries and damage to personal motorcycle equipment according to the insurance terms from If Skadeförsäkring AB (publ).
The insurance is an integrated part of the licence and follows TDA’s safety regulations. The insurer is If Skadeförsäkring AB (publ). TDA is not an insurance intermediary.
TDA’s role
TDA is a licensing organisation that establishes rules, requirements, and safety standards for riders and organisers. We ensure that all parties have a shared, clear, and legally correct foundation to operate from. TDA’s documents describe licence rules, safety requirements, and organiser processes.
Training
TDA has developed a simple training package with a test, available for download under Documents. Please review the material before purchasing your Rider Licence.
