Why the International Rider Licence?
Circuit owners and organisers abroad require insurance cover that applies on track. Ordinary policies don't, and local options are hard to assess. TDA's licence was developed with riders, organisers and circuits specifically for track riding.
What you get
Travel insurance for motorsport on approved circuits: ambulance, medical care, hospital stay, repatriation and protective equipment. Full scope is in If's terms further down.
You are covered by the group insurance TDA, as group representative, has taken out with If P&C Insurance Ltd (publ). The insurance is part of the licence. Claims go directly to If. TDA is not an insurance intermediary.
Civil liability (RC)
Damage to third parties is not covered by the licence and normally not by your ordinary insurance. In Sweden the organiser carries that cover by law. Abroad it varies – always ask the organiser before booking what is included.
Where the licence applies
With TDA-approved organisers at TDA-approved International circuits (outside Nordic in Europe). Check both lists before booking – an approved organiser may run events at circuits that are not approved. The organiser cannot tell you whether your licence applies; the lists do.
About TDA
TDA is the group representative for track days in Sweden and Europe. By bringing riders, organisers, officials and instructors together under one set of rules, TDA can take out motorsport cover that no individual rider or organiser could buy alone.

VAT
As a TDA licence holder you are covered by the group insurance that Trackday Alliance, as group representative, has taken out with If. The licence fee is therefore exempt from VAT under Chapter 10, Section 32 of the Swedish VAT Act (2023:200). No VAT is added and none is included – the price you see is the price you pay. This applies to all customers, in Sweden and abroad.
