TDA is the group representative for track days and circuit training in Sweden and Europe.
Track-day culture has grown fast, but insurance terms, rules and organiser responsibilities have not kept up. Riders and organisers have long lacked clear answers about what applies on track. TDA was created mid 2025 to bring order to what has been unclear and launched with joint efforts late 2025.
Why TDA exists
Terms such as enclosed area, training, competition and timing are unclear in ordinary insurance. Many riders believe they are insured but are in practice without cover, and insurers assess track riding differently. Organisers, meanwhile, carry extensive legal responsibility for working environment, safety and third parties. TDA's purpose is to give everyone cover that works and a set of rules to stand on.
What TDA does
TDA brings riders, organisers, officials and instructors together under one set of rules with approved organisers and approved circuits. As group representative, TDA takes out group insurance with If for the whole group – tailored motorsport cover that an individual rider or organiser cannot buy alone. A TDA licence means you are covered by that insurance.
The licences are built on uniform rules for organisers, clear information for riders and a structured process for circuit activities. TDA developed them together with insurers, organisers, circuit owners and riders.
TDA's licences
Organiser Licence – the motor-racing insurance required by law to organise. Officials Licence – cover for officials under the organiser's duty of care. Instructor Licence – for instructors riding on the circuit, who count as riders. Nordic Rider Licence – for track days, free riding and training in the Nordics. International Rider Licence – for track days, free riding and training in the rest of Europe.
Insurance
The insurer is If P&C Insurance Ltd (publ). TDA is the policyholder and group representative; as a licence holder you are insured under the group policy. Terms are provided by If. TDA is not an insurance intermediary.
How it works
Buy in the web shop → the licence is created and sent automatically → cover applies under If's terms → claims are reported directly to If (and to TDA) → If's claims handler contacts you.
